What is Manual Osteopathy?
Manual osteopathy is a form of healing which emphasizes the interrelationship between structure and function of the human body. It includes identifying, assessing and treating the body’s structures and rhythms using a gentle hands-on approach.
The premise of osteopathy lies in the fact that structure governs function. If the structure of our body is not aligned, the body cannot function optimally. Our practitioner, Camilla Singh, will work to maintain, improve and restore the normal physiological function of various body structures and systems, enhancing the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Benefits of osteopathy
In addition to alleviating chronic pain in various parts of the body (neck, shoulder, knees, back, TMJ etc.), manual osteopathy:
- Improves posture
- Improves circulation
- Increases joint flexibility
- Prevents injury
- Reduces inflammation
- Increases range of motion
- Promotes deeper breathing
After an initial assessment, a tailored treatment plan to improve the quality of your life will be administered as well as therapeutic exercises or ergonomic lessons if required.
